Arianne Burshtein ("I," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Bomb Shelter Locator
mobile application, also known as "Miklat Map" (the "App"). This
Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information
when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance
with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please
do not use the App.
Important: This App is designed for use in Israel and is subject to Israeli privacy

The App accesses your device's location data to:
Display your current position on the map
Find and display nearby bomb shelters
Calculate distances to shelters
Update map positioning and distance calculations in real time

Collected only when the app is actively running and you have granted permission

We are not responsible for errors in the underlying data sources
Shelter availability and accessibility may change without notice
Distance to shelters may not be accurate
Time to walk to shelters may not be accurate
Data Updates
Shelter data is bundled with the app and updated through app releases
Update frequency varies and is not guaranteed
Users should always verify shelter information through official channels in emergency situations
Data Storage and Security
Local Processing Only
All user data (location, settings) is processed locally on your device only.
We do not operate servers that collect or store your personal information.
Location Data Handling
Location coordinates are held temporarily in device memory while the app runs
No location history is maintained
Data is automatically cleared when the app is closed
No persistent storage of location information occurs
Map Tile Caching
Map tiles are cached in memory only while the app is running
and are cleared when the app is closed. Tiles do not contain personal information.
Security Measures
We implement security measures to protect your data:
All data processing happens locally on your device
All network requests use HTTPS encryption
No user data is transmitted to our servers
Location data is used temporarily to provide app functionality and is not retained after use
No analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks are used
Third-Party Services
Map Tile Servers
The App downloads map tile images to display the map. Tiles are fetched over HTTPS from the following
services:
Primary: Miklat Map tile server
Hosted on Cloudflare's global network
Your device's IP address is visible to Cloudflare when tiles are requested
Tile requests reveal the approximate geographic area you are viewing
No personal data or user identifiers are sent with tile requests
Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, timestamps) according to their policies
When you use the "Navigate" feature to get directions to a shelter, the App opens
your chosen navigation app and passes the shelter's coordinates to it. This may involve:
Note: Your current location may also be shared with these navigation
apps if you grant them location permissions separately. We do not control how these
third-party apps handle your data.
We do not control how these platform providers handle location requests.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third parties.
Your data is:

Not transmitted to our servers or any third-party services (except as described in this policy)
Not shared with advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers

External data transmission occurs only when:

Voluntary Shelter Reports
The App includes a feature to report shelter issues via email. If you choose to send a report:
Your device's email client opens with a pre-filled message
The message may include shelter information (name, address, coordinates) and the issue type you selected
Your location data is NOT included in these reports
Sending the email is entirely voluntary and user-initiated
You can review and edit the message before sending
The report goes through your own email service to our support address
We only receive information you choose to send
The email we receive will include your email address. We will only use your email to send a reply if
needed.
No Analytics or Advertising
This App does not use:
Analytics services
Crash reporting tools
Advertising frameworks or networks
Tracking pixels or cookies
User behavior monitoring
Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, or custom user IDs)
Your Rights and Choices
Location Permissions
You have complete control over location access:
iOS Users:
Go to: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Miklat Map
Options: "Never," "Ask Next Time Or When I Share," "While Using the App"
Android Users:
Go to: Settings > Apps > Miklat Map > Permissions > Location
Options: "Allow all the time," "Allow only while using the app," "Ask every time," "Don't allow"
Effect of Denying Location:
The app will still display the map and all bomb shelters
Your location will not be shown on the map
Distance calculations will not be available
Data Access and Deletion
Since we do not store your data on servers:
There is no personal data to request or access
Location data is automatically cleared when you close the app
Settings data can be deleted by:
Uninstalling the app, OR
Clearing the app's data through device settings
Data Portability
As no personal data is stored on our servers, there is no data to export or transfer.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The App is designed
for emergency use by the general public and does not target children specifically.
The App does not:

and from OpenStreetMap servers as a fallback. These servers may be located internationally.

Only your IP address and requested tile coordinates are transmitted
Your precise location data is never transmitted internationally
No personal information is sent to international servers
Security Incidents
In the unlikely event of a security vulnerability in the app that could affect user privacy:
We will assess the severity and scope of the issue
We will release an app update to address the vulnerability
For significant vulnerabilities, we will notify users through an in-app notice or app update notes
We will post information about the incident and remediation in the app update notes
